Paint Correction
Paint correction is the process of restoring the clear coat to the original finish. This is a crucial step prior to installing a ceramic coating if you want the best results. Our Paint Correction process includes a thorough wash and cleaning of all the vehicle’s exterior painted surfaces and an Automotive Clay Bar Residue Removal process:
Stage 1: High-speed, heavy-duty defect removal cutting/buffing compound of all painted surfaces (if light scratches are present, wet sanding before compounding may be necessary).
Stage 2: Medium cut pad with light compound or medium duty polishing materials applied at a slower rate with a dual action polisher. This stage will refine any marring or swirl line defects from stage 1, making the paint surface look much smoother and leaving an almost defect-free surface.
Stage 3: Final polish material with a light finishing foam pad and dual action polisher. This will leave the surface with a deep luster, bringing your vehicle free of defects and ready for any topcoat protectant, such as wax, sealants or the best source – ceramics.
Paint correction prices are per estimate. There are many variables that apply to the paint correction pricing structure: severity of paint condition, the size of your vehicle and the color, which may show more defects or hide more defects.
This process can vary from 6 hours to 30+ hours depending on the paint condition. This three-stage process usually brings your paint back to its full potential. Keep in mind, if your paint has chips or large defects on the surface, some paint repair and refinishing may be required.
